Levels

Level is a public measure of competitive standing from 1 to 50. It is computed from finalized match results and the confidence the rating system has in those results. It is not a handicap.

Why Levels fall

When you stop playing, uncertainty grows and your Level can fall: four weeks idle is about one Level, eight weeks about two, twelve weeks about three, twenty-six weeks about five, and fifty-two weeks about eight.

The county ceiling

A single county deliberately tops out in the low 20s. Level 25 or higher means you would be competitive in a field larger than one county; Level 30 means a regional network. The scale stays absolute so a Level means the same thing across places and years.

Level is computed from results only.
